Platform Engineer (RHEL & OpenShift)

About the role

Zenith Infotech is seeking a Platform Engineer to own and operate its Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and OpenShift environments, ensuring high availability, security, and performance for enterprise workloads.

Key responsibilities

• RHEL Platform Management – own and maintain the RHEL OS fleet underpinning OpenShift worker/control‑plane nodes and non‑containerised servers, plan and execute OS patching cycles, implement OS hardening benchmarks, troubleshoot system‑level issues, and manage subscriptions and Satellite/image registries.
• OpenShift Cluster Administration – deploy, upgrade, and maintain OpenShift 4.x clusters, configure the Machine Config Operator for node‑level customisation, manage cluster certificates, ingress/route settings, HAProxy tuning, and administer Quay mirror registry with vulnerability scanning.
• Application Platform & Integration Support – take ownership of platforms such as Pega Infinity, WebSphere, and IBM MQ, provide HA setup, application patching, and operational support, and assist build teams on integration points like web services, MQ, SFTP, and API gateways.
• Operational Governance & Security – define and execute OS and application patching processes, support VAPT engagements, apply government‑grade security hardening (IM8, SSCT, CIS), contribute to DevSecOps tooling, and perform AWS administration tasks where applicable.

Required skills

• RHEL system administration (RHEL 8/9), OS patching, SELinux enforcement, CIS/DISA hardening, Extended Update Support (EUS) lifecycle, subscription and Red Hat Satellite management.
• OpenShift Container Platform administration (OCP 4.x), Machine Config Operator usage, cluster upgrades, certificate rotation, RBAC, network policies, storage management, and Quay registry administration.
• Enterprise container architecture and integration – experience with IBM MQ, Pega Infinity, WebSphere, Java/JVM tuning, AWS services (CloudWatch, IAM, S3), CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts.
