Principal / Senior Engineer - Common Data Environment & Digital Platforms

About the role

LTA is hiring a Principal / Senior Engineer for its Common Data Environment (CDE) and digital platforms team. The role administers and enhances CDE platforms and digital engineering systems that support infrastructure project delivery, focusing on system integration, information management, automation, data engineering and AI-enabled solutions. It works with engineering users, technology vendors and internal stakeholders to build scalable digital solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and enhance CDE platforms and associated digital engineering systems.
• Design and implement automation solutions to improve engineering workflows and business processes.
• Develop and maintain integrations between engineering platforms, enterprise systems and external applications.
• Support implementation of AI, Generative AI and data-driven solutions for engineering and corporate use cases.
• Establish platform governance, metadata standards and information management controls.
• Develop dashboards, analytics and reporting solutions to support operational decision-making.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions.
• Collaborate with business users to turn operational needs into technical solutions.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Software Engineering, Civil Engineering or another relevant discipline.
• Experience in digital platform implementation, software development, systems engineering or enterprise application administration.
• Experience developing or deploying automation, analytics or data-driven solutions, and implementing technical solutions rather than just managing projects.
• Experience with enterprise information management or engineering systems.
• Strong systems thinking, ability to turn business requirements into digital solutions, proactive mindset, and strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Required skills

• Programming and technical problem solving.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, REST APIs, Power Platform, JavaScript and cloud-based services.
• Experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud, Bentley ProjectWise, SharePoint, Azure Services and Power BI.
• Preferred: data engineering, systems integration, workflow automation, GenAI development, knowledge management platforms, BIM workflows.
