Principal/Senior/Assistant Engineer - Commuter Facilities Management

About the role

This role covers the management, maintenance and engineering design of commuter facilities such as covered linkways, pedestrian overhead bridges, underpasses, footbridges and bus, taxi and pick-up/drop-off shelters, so they remain safe for public use. It is open to Principal, Senior and Assistant Engineer levels.

Key responsibilities

• Manage, maintain and design commuter facilities to ensure safe public use.
• Lead the preparation of tender specifications and manage and supervise inspection and maintenance contracts, ensuring safety requirements for on-site activities.
• Carry out quantity and quality audit checks on works on site.
• Review construction drawings and give professional advice to developers, consultants and other government agencies on development submissions and projects related to commuter facility maintenance.
• Manage feedback from the public, other government agencies and private developers.
• Keep GIS map layers and other inventory management programmes up to date.

Required profile

• Knowledge of civil or structural engineering, together with computer science, information systems, geographic information science or geoinformatics.
• Strong interest in technology and data analysis; passion for innovation and willingness to learn new skills.
• Independent, self-motivated, with good project management and organisational skills.
• Good writing, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Relevant experience in commuter facilities construction, handling customer feedback, GIS, BIM, productivity and automation tools is an advantage.

Required skills

• Civil or structural engineering knowledge
• GIS and BIM (advantage)
• Good knowledge of common civil construction materials such as reinforced concrete, steel and asphalt is preferred
