Principal/Senior/Executive Engineer, Station Rejuvenation Design

About the role

SMRT's rail network carries millions of passengers daily, and this role helps shape the quality of that experience by improving the built environment at existing MRT stations. As part of the Station Rejuvenation Design team, you will work with a multidisciplinary team to turn insights into built outcomes that ease congestion, improve accessibility and give ageing stations a new lease of life.

Key responsibilities

• Design manage consultants to develop preliminary designs that meet the needs of internal and external stakeholders
• Devising strategies to address overcrowding and enhance station accessibility and vibrancy
• Take the lead on station rejuvenation projects from concept through to implementation
• Design manage engineering studies and secure planning approvals
• Safeguard railway corridors and keep projects on budget and on schedule
• Steer the tender evaluation and award process for consultants and contractors

Required profile

• Civil or Structural Engineering knowledge, or equivalent
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in Civil/Structural Engineering design; railway project design experience is an advantage
• Strong interest in developing project management skills and improving the stations' built environment
• Good interpersonal and communication skills to manage complex, multi-stakeholder environments
• Collaborative, with a strong learning mindset and drive to meet deliverables
• Candidates with strong relevant experience will be considered for senior roles
