Prison Officer

About the role

The Singapore Prison Service is seeking dedicated individuals to join its uniformed team as Prison Officers. In this role you will help safeguard the nation by ensuring the secure custody of offenders while supporting their rehabilitation and reintegration into society. You will be at the forefront of daily challenges that test your resolve, develop leadership abilities and provide opportunities to inspire positive change.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain prison security by enforcing rules, conducting routine checks and monitoring entry and exit points.
• Operate and oversee surveillance systems and respond promptly to incidents or emergencies.
• Interact with offenders, address their concerns and facilitate access to rehabilitation programmes and services.
• Uphold order and discipline to create a safe and purposeful environment for staff and inmates.

Required profile

• Local polytechnic diploma, GCE ‘A’ Level, five GCE ‘O’ Level passes, Higher Nitec or Nitec qualification.
• Medically and physically fit (for males: PES B1 and above and a passing IPPT score).
• Normal colour vision.
