Workplace Safety & Health Officer – Industry Safety Implementation

About the role

The START Centre (NTUitive Pte Ltd) is seeking a Workplace Safety and Health Officer to lead industry safety implementation across laboratories, workshops, offices and pilot sites. The role focuses on ensuring strict EHS compliance, fostering a strong safety culture, and supporting the organisation's EHS Management Systems.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and enforce compliance with Singapore WSH Acts, regulations, and internal safety policies.
• Review, approve or reject Permit‑To‑Work (PTW) applications, risk assessments, safe work procedures and method statements.
• Communicate safety rules, hazards and risk assessments to employees, contractors and visitors.
• Organise and deliver on‑site and in‑house safety training, inductions and orientation sessions.
• Monitor high‑risk activities such as lifting, confined space entry and work‑at‑height to ensure safe execution.
• Liaise with external agencies (NEA, MOM, SCDF) on regulatory matters and compliance reporting.

Required profile

• Strong time‑management skills and ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
• Experience managing safety for multiple contractors and site activities simultaneously.
• Proactive communication style with management, contractors and workers.
• Attention to detail in reviewing safety documentation and enforcing procedures.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Singapore WSH Acts and Regulations.
• Experience with Permit‑To‑Work (PTW) systems.
• Ability to review and assess risk assessments, safe work procedures and method statements.
