Process Support Engineer – Metrology (Semiconductor)

About the role

The Process Support Engineer (Metrology) will guide semiconductor equipment through its full lifecycle, from concept to qualification, providing on‑site customer support and ensuring stable, high‑quality processes.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑visibility customer support through on‑site installations, system diagnoses, and service/repair of complex semiconductor equipment.
• Collaborate with customers to develop leading‑edge processes for advanced semiconductor chips.
• Create hypothesis experiments and design of experiments (DOE), analyze data statistically, and compile reports with high‑level conclusions.
• Troubleshoot complex problems, perform root‑cause analyses, and resolve difficult process engineering and product issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, physics, materials engineering, electrical engineering, optoelectronics or a related field.
• More than 5 years of experience in the semiconductor fab or equipment industry, preferably in metrology.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to convey technical information and build consensus.
• Willingness to work daily at the customer’s site/cleanroom.

Required skills

• Metrology expertise in semiconductor manufacturing.
• Experience with Chemical Vapor Deposition, Atomic Layer Deposition, Plasma Reactive Ion Etch, Physical Vapor Deposition, Anneal and Implant technologies.
• Statistical data analysis and Design of Experiments (DOE) methodology.
• Root‑cause analysis and troubleshooting of complex equipment.
