Production Technician – Quality Control & Lab Testing (Jurong Island)

About the role

The Production Technician will support quality control and laboratory testing on Jurong Island, ensuring raw material and in‑process samples meet specifications and that any abnormalities are addressed promptly.

Key responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing and analyse in‑process samples using approved instruments.
• Prepare chemical reagents required for testing.
• Communicate test results to the Production Supervisor and QC team, especially when abnormalities are detected.
• Conduct incoming inspection of raw materials such as Methanol, NaOH, Catalyst, VAM, and Acetic Acid.
• Carry out daily equipment validation, including analytical balance checks, pH meter calibration, buffer verification and KF standardisation.
• Operate, calibrate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment.
• Perform basic troubleshooting, minor maintenance and gas‑cylinder replacement as needed.
• Report maintenance requirements to supervisors and QC personnel.
• Assist with commissioning and de‑commissioning of laboratory equipment.
• Prepare equipment for maintenance and ensure safe isolation of energy sources.
• Participate in emergency response drills and safety activities.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe laboratory environment in line with 5S standards.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ).

Required profile

• GCE ‘N’/‘O’ level, Nitec or Diploma in Chemical Process, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant field experience with basic laboratory exposure.
• Willingness to work a 12‑hour rotating shift schedule.
