Professor in Applied Quantum Computing (Assistant/Associate/Full)

About the role

The Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) seeks dynamic faculty members at the Assistant, Associate, or Professor level to lead its Applied Quantum Computing programme. The role combines cutting‑edge research with teaching, focusing on hybrid quantum‑classical solutions that deliver tangible value to industry partners.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to applied quantum computing research projects with industry collaborators.
• Design and develop hybrid quantum‑classical applications that integrate AI and high‑performance computing workflows.
• Apply quantum algorithms such as VQE, QAOA, quantum machine learning, quantum annealing, and quantum‑inspired methods.
• Create industry‑relevant use cases that demonstrate near‑term quantum advantage.
• Develop and deliver quantum computing courses for CET/PET and undergraduate programmes.
• Supervise capstone projects and industry‑linked research initiatives.
• Engage with the broader quantum ecosystem and contribute to SIT’s strategic initiatives.

Required profile

• PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
• 2–5 years of post‑doctoral experience in industry or applied research.
• Demonstrated expertise in quantum algorithms and NISQ‑era computing.
• Experience collaborating with industry partners on applied research projects.

Required skills

• Proficiency with quantum software frameworks such as Qiskit, PennyLane, or CUDA‑Q.
• Strong programming abilities and familiarity with AI/ML toolkits.
• Knowledge of hybrid quantum‑classical workflow design.
• Hands‑on experience with quantum algorithms (VQE, QAOA, QML, quantum annealing).
