Project Engineer – Separation Technologies (Research & Translation)

About the role

The Project Engineer will support the translation of novel membrane technologies from lab scale to pilot and demonstration plants. You will work with in‑house pilot equipment and large‑scale external platforms to validate performance and scale‑up processes.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the project lead in membrane translation tasks, including equipment maintenance and module design from 2‑inch to 8‑inch scales.
• Operate in‑house pilot systems, prepare test protocols, and optimise process parameters.
• Transfer pilot operation, data collection and reporting methods to field pilots for technology evaluation.
• Source components and support engineering design for pilot scale‑up.
• Develop and maintain SOPs for membrane processes and ensure HSE compliance.
• Train junior staff on membrane technology and water‑treatment operations.
• Present regular progress updates to senior management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Materials, Mechanical, Chemical or Environmental Engineering.
• Fresh graduates are welcome; up to 2 years experience in membrane technology or process optimisation is a plus.
• Familiarity with flat‑sheet and hollow‑fiber membrane fabrication.
• Good knowledge of polymeric and ceramic membrane water‑treatment systems.
• Experience handling P&ID documents for pilot plants.
• Basic proficiency with design software such as AutoCAD is advantageous.
