Project Manager – Grid Integration & Distribution Projects

About the role

Hitachi Energy is looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead electrical infrastructure projects in Singapore, ensuring safe, on‑time and on‑budget delivery while maintaining strong customer relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Lead project teams and coordinate internal and external resources to achieve project objectives.
• Establish execution plans, schedules, budgets, resource plans and risk‑management strategies with stakeholders.
• Monitor progress, financials, invoicing, costs, cash flow and resource utilisation, applying corrective actions as needed.
• Identify, assess and manage project risks and opportunities throughout the lifecycle.
• Ensure compliance with Hitachi Energy policies, quality standards, contractual obligations and PM best practices.
• Coordinate procurement activities, support supplier management, negotiations, claims and change‑management processes.
• Manage contractual matters including claims, variations and project close‑out activities.
• Act as the primary customer interface and escalation point, maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.
• Capture and share lessons learned, ensure successful handover and customer acceptance.
• Promote a strong culture of health, safety, integrity and environmental responsibility across all project activities.

Required profile

• Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven experience managing electrical engineering or utility infrastructure projects in Singapore.
• Strong project‑management experience within the utilities sector, preferably in power distribution, substations or grid infrastructure.
• Demonstrated ability to manage scope, schedule, budget, financial performance, contracts, risks and stakeholder expectations.
• Experience leading cross‑functional teams and coordinating multiple stakeholders in complex projects.
• Commercial awareness with exposure to contract management, claims handling and procurement coordination.
• Excellent communication, leadership, negotiation and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification is advantageous.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
