Project Officer – 3D Concrete Printing & Data Analytics

About the role

The Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering group at NTU is seeking a Project Officer to support a research project focused on data‑driven evaluation of material formulations for 3D concrete printing. The role will help build a structured benchmarking framework that links material composition, printing parameters and performance outcomes, contributing to sustainable and digitally enabled construction research.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct literature reviews on 3D concrete printing materials, printability and related performance indicators.
• Collect, organise and clean research data from journal publications and approved sources.
• Develop and maintain a structured database covering material composition, process parameters and performance results.
• Assist with data documentation, definitions, assumptions and processing procedures.
• Support data analysis and baseline modelling under the guidance of the Principal Investigator.
• Identify trends and relationships between formulation variables and printing performance.
• Participate in experimental activities such as sample preparation, 3D printing trials, laboratory testing and data recording.
• Prepare figures, summaries, presentations and draft materials for reports, publications and project meetings.
• Ensure proper documentation, record keeping and compliance with laboratory safety and data management requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, materials science, mechanical engineering, data science, computer science or a related discipline.
• Experience in research, data analysis or construction‑material projects is preferred.
• Strong analytical, communication and organisational abilities.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a research team.

Required skills

• Familiarity with Python, MATLAB or R for data processing and analysis.
• Experience with machine‑learning workflows.
• Proficiency in literature review, data handling and technical reporting.
