Project Officer – Civil/Structural Engineering

About the role

The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at NTU seeks a Project Officer to advance fire‑resistance research on precast structures and study progressive collapse in flat‑slab systems. You will contribute to safer, more resilient built environments while supporting the university’s mission of innovation and community protection.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct research and in‑depth analyses to improve fire performance of concrete materials, structural systems, and joints.
• Develop and implement innovative methods that enhance building safety and structural resilience.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to design, test, and optimise new materials and construction techniques.
• Support performance‑based fire design, numerical modelling, testing framework development, and technical reporting.
• Ensure project compliance with safety standards and university objectives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or a related field.
• Knowledge of structural fire engineering and performance‑based fire design.
• Experience in structural/material testing, modelling, or data analysis.
• Strong written and oral communication abilities.
• Experience with reinforced and precast concrete structure design and analysis.
