Project Site Engineer

About the role

The Project Site Engineer will support the Superintending Officer in managing remediation contracts for land decontamination projects. Working closely with the client, contractor and project manager, you will monitor field activities, validate deliverables and help mitigate project risks.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a liaison between client and contractor, inspecting and monitoring work progress.
• Gather and analyse data from soil and groundwater treatment, excavations, sampling and environmental monitoring.
• Validate contractor deliverables against technical and contractual requirements.
• Identify project risks, handle disputes, and manage contractual matters such as extensions of time and loss‑and‑expense claims.
• Support field sampling of soil, water and air for environmental site assessments.
• Prepare weekly summary reports, official correspondence, meeting minutes and technical report illustrations.

Required profile

• Diploma, Specialist Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil or Environmental Engineering.
• Up to 3 years of experience in construction site supervision or civil infrastructure management.
• Experience managing subcontractors and resolving site‑related issues.
• Familiarity with PSSCOC or similar contract forms is desirable.
• Strong written and verbal communication, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
