Purchaser – Tanker Vessels

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Purchaser to manage the procurement of spare parts, stores, lubricants and services for our tanker fleet operating out of Singapore. The role requires strong negotiation abilities and close collaboration with technical teams and logistics partners to ensure timely, cost‑effective deliveries.

Key responsibilities

• Procure spare parts, stores, lubricants and services for assigned crude, product, chemical or LPG tankers.
• Identify, evaluate and negotiate with approved marine suppliers worldwide to secure competitive pricing and on‑time delivery.
• Process vessel requisitions, verify technical specifications and maker references.
• Collect quotations, compare prices and issue purchase orders in line with company procedures.
• Coordinate with Technical Superintendents, vessel crew and logistics providers to ensure seamless delivery to ports along trading routes.
• Track order status, follow up on outstanding items and maintain up‑to‑date supplier records in the purchasing system (e.g., AMOS, ShipServ).
• Adhere to company policies, ISM, ISPS, OCIMF and other vetting requirements for tanker operations.
• Monitor procurement trends and propose cost‑saving initiatives without compromising safety or quality.

Required profile

• Minimum Diploma in Logistics Management, Maritime Studies, Marine Engineering, Supply Chain or a related field (advantageous).
• 2–4 years of procurement experience, preferably within a ship‑management or vessel‑owning company.
• Familiarity with marine procurement software or a strong willingness to learn.
• Excellent negotiation skills, commercial awareness and the ability to manage multiple vessels simultaneously.
