Purchasing Supervisor

About the role

KLA, a global leader in electronics for the semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem, is hiring a Purchasing Supervisor in Singapore. The role covers sourcing and managing the supply of materials, components and equipment needed for production, working closely with suppliers and the internal inventory team.

Key responsibilities

• Purchase direct materials, components and equipment according to the MRP system or re-order point system.
• Review and analyse planning reports to ensure timely material availability for production.
• Improve gross margin through supplier negotiations on pricing, rework costs and expediting costs, and reduce purchase price variance.
• Reduce material lead times by improving supplier cycle times, negotiating hedges and VMI programmes.
• Ensure timely purchase order execution and resolve supplier quality, capacity and material issues affecting supply.
• Communicate with suppliers about early or delayed deliveries and drive on-time delivery.
• Take part in supplier business reviews and give constructive feedback to improve supplier scores.
• Ensure accurate and timely supplier claims on ECO and EOM projects, and review ECN and ECO changes so production is not affected.
• Work with the Inventory Analyst to minimise excess inventory, improve inventory turns through MRB and RTV handling, and review safety stock quarterly.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics or equivalent.
• 2 to 5 years of related experience in buying and production planning.
• Experience in a low-volume, high-mix manufacturing environment is a plus.
• Basic understanding of the Bill of Materials (BOM) is advantageous.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Excel, Word and Outlook.
• SAP experience is highly desirable.
