QC Technician

About the role

BeeX is developing advanced Hovering Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (HAUVs) and needs a QC Technician to ensure every component meets strict workmanship standards before it reaches the testing phase.

Key responsibilities

• Perform incoming inspection of HAUV parts, including machined fittings, 3D‑printed components, PCBs, connectors, seals, O‑rings and fasteners against drawings and specifications.
• Measure dimensions with calipers, micrometers, height gauges, thread gauges and other precision tools, recording results and labeling accepted or rejected items.
• Conduct in‑process and final inspections of wiring harnesses, crimps, solder joints, torque of fasteners, seal installations and pressure‑hull assembly.
• Complete inspection checklists, build records and non‑conformance reports, maintaining traceability for critical parts and vehicle builds.
• Organise and calibrate inspection tools, report recurring defects and suggest improvements to inspection methods.

Required profile

• ITE Nitec, Higher Nitec or a Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics or Manufacturing Engineering.
• 1–3 years of QC inspection experience in electromechanical, electronics, aerospace, marine or precision manufacturing (fresh graduates with relevant training are welcome).
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, including basic GD&T and tolerances.
• Strong attention to detail and honesty in recording inspection results.

Required skills

• Use of measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, gauges and torque tools.
• Inspection of crimp, solder and harness workmanship.
• Basic knowledge of IPC standards (e.g., IPC‑A‑610, IPC/WHMA‑A‑620) and ISO 9001 quality systems (preferred).
• Basic Excel or digital QC tracking skills.
