About the role
Applied Materials is the global leader in materials science and engineering solutions that underpin every new semiconductor chip and advanced display. The Quality Engineer – FEOL will ensure manufacturing processes meet the highest quality standards while supporting next‑generation semiconductor production.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
- Develop and strengthen quality‑assurance systems to improve product quality, process capability, and manufacturing consistency.
- Establish quality objectives, monitor KPIs, and drive sustainable improvements in defect reduction and process performance.
- Partner with Manufacturing and Engineering teams to embed quality into production processes and new technology implementation.
- Govern manufacturing quality risk through PFMEA, Control Plans, change management, MRB, and Process Change Notification (PCN).
- Identify, investigate, mitigate, and monitor quality risks, non‑conformities, and systemic issues.
- Apply statistical methods such as SPC and Design of Experiments to interpret data, identify trends, and implement mitigation plans.
- Travel on short notice when required to support production sites.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
- 5–10 years of experience, including at least 3 years in‑process quality control in a high‑volume manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of nanotechnology processes, including lithography, etch, deposition, and metrology.
- Proven ability to lead functional teams or projects with moderate complexity.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time on short notice.
