Quantity Surveyor (Junior Executive)

About the role

We are looking for a diligent Quantity Surveyor (or Quantity Surveyor Manager) to join our dynamic team at Hong Aik Engineering. The role involves managing budgets, preparing quantity estimates, and supporting the delivery of construction projects on Jurong Island.

Key responsibilities

• Review construction plans and prepare detailed quantity take‑offs.
• Develop cost estimates and budgets aligned with client specifications.
• Administer contract terms, variations and claims throughout the project lifecycle.
• Monitor and control project costs, producing regular progress and cost analysis reports.
• Source competitive quotes from subcontractors and suppliers and negotiate contracts.
• Liaise with project managers, site managers, clients, contractors and subcontractors.
• Document design changes, update budgets and assist in the tender process.
• Maintain professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Management or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in construction cost estimating, quantity surveying or related finance roles.
• Strong analytical, numerical and negotiation abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team under tight deadlines.
• Willingness to travel to various sites as required.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with cost estimation software.
• Familiarity with project management tools.
