Regional EHS Manager (AKA)

About the role

GE Healthcare is hiring a Regional EHS Manager for its AKA (ASEAN, Korea, ANZ) area. The role maintains compliance, runs EHS programs and reduces risk, with a focus on general safety. It sits within the AKA leadership team and works closely with the Health & Safety and Environment team of global EHS staff.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance throughout the region, especially in health and safety, and support EHS at sites and service operations without dedicated EHS personnel
• Develop, own and drive global health and safety programs
• Identify, eliminate and mitigate EHS risks, particularly in health and safety areas
• Act as a thought leader and key team member of the Health & Safety team, and as the H&S expert for regulatory and industry standards
• Work with Global H&S and Governance teams to build proactive solutions that reduce future risk
• Coach and mentor other EHS professionals and leadership, and build the EHS pipeline in the region
• Coordinate activities across AKA and support service organizations
• Be a subject matter expert so that EHS professionals and operational employees have the right technical and regulatory competence
• Complete all planned EHS training within the defined deadlines and comply with EHS policies and applicable laws

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a related EHS discipline
• 5+ years overseeing the execution of EHS programs
• 10+ years of EHS experience with a working technical understanding of general health and safety
• Deep knowledge of GE's EHS programs and systems, and strong understanding of the legal requirements for EHS

Desired characteristics

• Ability to travel about 25% of the time
• Experience working with industry EHS organizations
• Related EHS expertise beyond the primary role, such as electrical, PPE, risk assessment, emergency preparedness or radiation safety
• Leadership, change-driving and cross-functional teamwork skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication, including presenting to large and small groups
