Registered Nurse – Upper River Valley (Class A)

About the role

The Upper River Valley team is seeking a Class A Registered Nurse to deliver comprehensive nursing care within the Addiction/Mental Health program. You will work closely with patients, families, and multidisciplinary staff to support recovery and promote a therapeutic environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document patient care using standardized nursing tools.
• Provide case management, counseling, and education to patients and families.
• Develop and continuously update individualized care plans.
• Facilitate therapeutic groups and participate in multidisciplinary meetings.
• Advocate for patients, ensuring clear communication and professional standards.
• Maintain documentation in accordance with NANB standards.

Required profile

• Current registration with the College of Nursing of New Brunswick.
• Minimum 1,950 hours of recent direct addiction/mental health experience (within the past two years).
• Commitment to confidentiality, advocacy, and ongoing professional development.
• Excellent attendance record and strong interpersonal skills.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Training in Non‑Violent Crisis Intervention.
• Concurrent Disorder Modules and Addictions 101.
• Motivational Interviewing and Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training.
• Knowledge of the Mental Health Act, Family Services Act, and NB addiction withdrawal protocols.
