Research Analyst (SMID Cap)

About the role

CITIC CLSA is looking for a research analyst to cover the small and mid-cap space in the Singapore listed market. The analyst provides stock recommendations and reports based on thorough analysis, financial models and company and industry insights, and presents and markets the work externally to fund managers and clients and internally to institutional sales and sales traders.

Key responsibilities

• Provide proactive and differentiated research on the small cap sector
• Develop financial models and valuation databases for all stocks under primary coverage
• Respond proactively to market news, earnings releases, corporate developments and other market-moving information
• Develop and maintain key client relationships and actively engage clients and the sales team to communicate ideas
• Maintain good working relationships with corporates, clients, the government and industry organisations
• Contribute to teamwork, generate ideas for team development and communicate issues that need action

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or above in a business-related discipline, preferably Finance and/or Accounting
• At least 6 years of experience as a Research Associate/Analyst, independently covering stocks
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, strong interpersonal sensitivity and relationship management
• Strong commercial awareness and excellent spoken and written English

• Sound understanding of financial modelling
• Excellent Excel and spreadsheet skills
