Research and Centre Manager - Orthopaedic Surgery

About the role

Woodlands Hospital is looking for an experienced Research and Centre Manager to lead and oversee its Orthopaedic Surgery research centre. The role combines research administration, project governance and stakeholder engagement, and offers the chance to help shape the growth of a developing research centre.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the centre's operations and portfolio end to end, including leading a team of Research Fellows, Research Coordinators and support staff, and driving workforce planning and resource allocation.
• Plan, implement and monitor research programmes with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring milestones and deliverables are met.
• Own grant and financial management, from budget planning and forecasting through to financial reporting and liaison with funding agencies.
• Contribute to strategic planning, identify growth opportunities, develop key performance indicators and support new funding and partnership initiatives.
• Manage IRB applications and regulatory documentation, and oversee research data and records management.
• Lead centre communications and outreach, and coordinate governance activities such as review meetings and reporting to management committees.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of experience in research administration, management and operations, ideally in a clinical or healthcare research setting.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, able to manage cross-functional teams and engage with a wide range of stakeholders.
• Highly organised, an excellent written and verbal communicator, confident presenting to external audiences and preparing governance materials.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of Good Clinical Practices, Good Manufacturing Practices and clinical trial processes.
• Proficiency in MS Office and project management software.
