Research Assistant / Associate / Fellow in Distributed Computing

About the role

NTU's College of Computing and Data Science is seeking motivated candidates to conduct research on resource allocation for distributed computing systems, focusing on cache management and job scheduling for modern workloads such as large language models.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop algorithms for cache management and job scheduling in distributed environments.
• Analyze theoretical aspects of distributed systems, including optimization, scalability, and efficiency.
• Implement and test proposed methods through simulations or real‑world experiments.
• Evaluate system performance using metrics such as latency, throughput, fairness, and robustness.

Required profile

• For Research Fellows: PhD in Computer Science or related field.
• For Research Associates: Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• For Research Assistants: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Demonstrated research experience with a proven record of publications.
• Independent, analytical, proactive, and able to work effectively in a team.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of distributed computing concepts.
• Expertise in algorithm design and analysis.
• Proficiency in optimization techniques.
• Experience with simulation tools and performance evaluation.
