Research Assistant – Full‑Stack Developer in Digital Health

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Research Assistant to develop digital health solutions for cognitive and mental healthcare within the Dementia Research Centre at Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, NTU Singapore.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain web and mobile applications supporting digital health initiatives.
• Build responsive front‑end interfaces using React and React Native.
• Develop and maintain backend services, APIs, and application logic with Node.js and TypeScript.
• Deploy, manage, and monitor cloud‑based applications on AWS, ensuring performance, security and reliability.
• Collaborate with researchers, clinicians, UI/UX designers and other developers to translate research requirements into digital tools.
• Participate in product ideation, prototyping, testing and iterative development of cognitive assessment applications.
• Document technical specifications, system architecture and operational procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or related field (Diploma with relevant experience also considered).
• Strong problem‑solving, analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Attention to detail and commitment to high‑quality software delivery.

Required skills

• JavaScript and/or TypeScript.
• Node.js for backend development.
• React for web applications.
• React Native for mobile or cross‑platform apps.
• AWS cloud services and deployment environments.
• Version control with Git and CI/CD pipeline experience.
• Experience building responsive, mobile‑compatible web applications.
