Research Assistant (Institute of Geriatrics and Active Ageing)

About the role

The Institute of Geriatrics and Active Ageing (IGA) is looking for a Senior/Research Assistant to support its Principal Investigator and study team on clinical research projects. The role covers research activities such as stakeholder engagement, participant recruitment and follow-up, data collection and management, and research administration.

Key responsibilities

• Help prepare study and administrative protocols and submit ethics review responses
• Monitor and ensure compliance with human biomedical research
• Coordinate study-related meetings and training sessions
• Engage and manage stakeholders such as clinic or community partners
• Recruit and screen participants, administer informed consent, carry out clinical assessments and follow-ups, prioritising participant safety and welfare
• Maintain the investigator file, study master list, logs and related documents
• Keep study progress on schedule and in line with protocols
• Manage data, clean it and assist with data analysis where applicable
• Take part in regular research meetings, support ad-hoc projects and events, and do other duties asked by the supervisor

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in nursing, sciences or allied health
• Experience in research is preferred
• Good communication and writing skills
• Able to work as a team

Required skills

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
• Knowledge of statistical software is preferred
