About the role

NHG's Speech Therapy Department is looking for a motivated Research Assistant on a locum contract. The work supports projects that use AI and technology to address speech and swallowing impairments, with about 8 hours per week on neural drive and 16 hours per week on AI dysphagia.

Key responsibilities

Support the research team with data collection, set-up of communication and swallowing devices, and project coordination
Screen and recruit patients, record swallowing sounds by audio, and annotate the recordings
Carry out user experience surveys and help test preliminary prototypes
Handle administrative tasks, keep accurate research documentation, and manage grant cashflow reimbursements
Ensure compliance with research protocols and grant requirements

Required profile

Highly motivated, reliable and team-oriented, willing to learn
Able to work independently and collaboratively
Excellent organisational, project management and communication skills
Fresh graduates in Biomedical Science or related fields are encouraged to apply
