Research Assistant – Pedagogy & Practice (AIIBL Project)

About the role

The National Institute of Education seeks a Research Assistant to support a 12‑month design‑based research project focused on developing teacher competencies in Aesthetically‑Infused Inquiry‑Based Learning (AIIBL) for Humanities and Arts. The role involves collaborating with teachers, analysing data, and contributing to academic outputs.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct data collection and perform qualitative and quantitative analysis to inform project objectives.
• Coordinate and manage project timelines, deliverables, and documentation.
• Draft reports, assist in writing academic publications and prepare presentation materials.
• Collaborate with Centre for Research in Pedagogy and Practice (CRPP) colleagues on cross‑functional research initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal Investigator.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Humanities, Arts, or a related field.
• Familiarity with both qualitative and quantitative research methods.
• Excellent writing, communication, and presentation abilities.
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Background in teaching, preferably with experience in quantitative ethnography or arts education.
• Willingness to learn, critical thinking, and ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience using SPSS for statistical analysis.
• Experience using NVivo for qualitative data analysis.
