Research Associate (Cognitive Flexibility and Learning)

About the role

The Centre for Lifelong Learning and Individualised Cognition (CLIC) is a research collaboration between the University of Cambridge and Nanyang Technological University (NTU), funded by the National Research Foundation Singapore. It brings together psychologists, neuroscientists, linguists and educators to develop neuroscience-based interventions for flexible learning. NTU is looking for a Research Associate to support research on cognitive flexibility and learning, and on brain changes related to training in adults and adolescents, in a dynamic interdisciplinary environment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct literature reviews and interviews, and liaise with school personnel
• Construct, evaluate and administer surveys; collect primary data, code and enter it
• Assist in quantitative and qualitative processing and analysis, and in project and data management
• Maintain research records and prepare reports
• Help analyse findings and carry out other research tasks assigned by the Principal Investigator

Required profile

• Master's degree in psychology, with a background in cognition, education/learning, pedagogy or a related field
• Experience conducting, collecting and analysing survey data, computerised psychological testing, behavioural testing and cognitive experiments
• Experience in literature reviews and writing academic reports
• Interest in research at the intersection of neuroscience, social science, education and cognition

Required skills

• Data analysis with SPSS and/or R (data wrangling, ANOVA, regression, SEM, principal factor analysis)
• Familiarity with Qualtrics, Gorilla and PsychoPy
• APA 7th edition reporting style
• Good ICT, communication and organisational skills, able to meet deadlines
