About the role
The School of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology (CCEB) at NTU Singapore is seeking a Research Fellow to advance asymmetric transition‑metal catalysis. You will work within the Zhong Group, bridging organometallic and organic chemistry to create new catalysts and reagents for innovative organic transformations.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct routine laboratory research and data analysis in asymmetric transition‑metal catalysis.
- Mentor junior researchers, teach organic‑chemistry lab techniques, and ensure laboratory safety.
- Present research progress in group meetings and seminars.
- Prepare and organize results for publication in peer‑reviewed journals.
Required profile
- PhD in organic chemistry.
- Minimum five years of experience in synthetic organic chemistry and/or asymmetric catalysis at the post‑doctoral level.
- Strong analytical expertise with NMR, mass spectrometry, chiral GC/HPLC, polarimetry, IR and UV/VIS spectroscopy.
- Proficiency in handling air‑sensitive compounds using Schlenk techniques or a glovebox.
