Research Fellow – Computer Vision & Machine Learning

About the role

The Nanyang Technological University College of Computing and Data Science is seeking a Research Fellow to join the Physical Vision Group. The role focuses on advancing computer vision, machine learning, physical AI and spatial AI research, supporting both foundational studies and real‑world applications such as robotics and VR/AR.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct independent research: process data, develop methods, and build/evaluate computer vision and machine learning algorithms.
• Publish research articles in top international conferences and journals.
• Engineer software prototypes based on research outcomes and share them within the group.
• Co‑organise workshops and challenges at international conferences.
• Co‑supervise graduate students and oversee senior project work.
• Manage small‑scale project activities, timelines and deliverables.
• Collaborate with faculty, post‑doctoral researchers, industry partners and external institutions.

Required profile

• Strong academic background in computer vision, machine learning or related fields.
• Experience in conducting independent research and publishing scholarly work.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary research team.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
