Research Fellow (Electrical)

About the role

The Energy Research Institute at NTU is seeking an Electrical Research Fellow to support renewable energy projects, focusing on energy storage sizing, distributed energy resources, and microgrid resiliency. The role involves close collaboration with internal teams and external partners to integrate advanced technologies into the grid.

Key responsibilities

• Perform site assessments and develop or evaluate electrical models for distributed power systems.
• Conduct engineering studies, calculations, and performance validation of renewable and storage technologies.
• Validate third‑party concepts and designs, providing best‑practice advice for microgrid and resiliency applications.
• Size energy storage systems for marine renewable projects.
• Apply electric utility power‑system knowledge to analyse infrastructure and propose solutions for distributed generation, smart‑grid, and micro‑grid integration.
• Support team members in analysing, integrating, and optimising energy storage, renewable generators, and grid operations.

Required profile

• Experience in electrical schema/architecture design.
• Strong knowledge of electric utility power systems.
• Demonstrated ability to perform detailed analysis of electric infrastructure.
