About the role
The School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Nanyang Technological University is seeking a highly motivated Research Fellow to lead cutting‑edge work on multi‑beam microwave, millimetre‑wave and terahertz metasurface devices, transmit‑array and reflect‑array antennas. The role involves designing, simulating, fabricating and validating novel antenna arrays for next‑generation wireless communication systems.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct independent and collaborative research on metasurfaces, transmitarrays, reflectarrays and multi‑beam antenna arrays.
- Design and analyse high‑performance devices using electromagnetic simulation tools such as HFSS and CST.
- Perform comprehensive antenna characterisation in anechoic chambers, including radiation pattern, gain, polarisation and phase measurements.
- Publish research findings in top‑tier journals and present at conferences.
- Supervise PhD, research assistant and master’s students.
- Contribute to grant proposals, project reporting and laboratory management.
Required profile
- PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics or a closely related field.
- Minimum three years of research experience with microwave, millimetre‑wave or terahertz devices, metasurfaces, transmit/reflect arrays and multi‑beam antenna systems.
- Strong publication record in metasurface or antenna array research.
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects and work independently.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
