Research Fellow – High Frequency Active Circuit Design

About the role

The Centre for Integrated Circuits and Systems at Nanyang Technological University seeks a Research Fellow to support a project on Terahertz transmitter and receiver antennas for high‑data‑rate wireless communications.

Key responsibilities

• Support research on on‑chip hybrid electronic and photonic transceiver design for the sub‑THz band.
• Design and characterize sub‑THz electronic circuits such as oscillators and mixers.
• Collaborate closely with the Photonics team for hybrid integration of photonic devices.

Required profile

• PhD in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related field.
• Strong background in RFIC component design; mmWave experience is advantageous.
• Proficiency with EDA tools (Cadence, ADS) and EM modelling tools (HFSS, CST).
• Experience in RF characterization measurements and post‑fabrication testing.
• Ability to design active ICs for phased‑array and on‑chip antennas, including fabrication and measurement.

Required skills

• RFIC design (including oscillators, mixers, phased‑array antennas).
• EDA tools: Cadence, ADS.
• Electromagnetic simulation: HFSS, CST.
• RF measurement and characterization techniques.
• Active circuit design and post‑fabrication testing.
