Research Fellow – Science of Learning (6‑month contract)

About the role

The National Institute of Education is seeking a Research Fellow for the Science of Learning in Education Centre on a six‑month fixed‑term contract, renewable. The role supports Project 3 of the DREAMS longitudinal cohort study, investigating adolescent development, peer relationships and educational outcomes in Singapore secondary schools.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse longitudinal data on students’ peer networks, family and school contexts.
• Conduct social network analysis using RSIENA to map relationship dynamics over four to five years.
• Perform quantitative data processing and statistical modelling with SPSS and R.
• Prepare research reports, academic papers and presentations for dissemination.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of researchers, educators and policymakers.

Required profile

• PhD in Data Science, Education, Psychology, Social Sciences or a related field (master’s degree also considered).
• Strong interest in education research and adolescent development.
• Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent academic writing skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in social network analysis using RSIENA.
• Experience with quantitative data analysis in SPSS.
• Competence in statistical programming with R.
