Research Fellow / Senior Research Fellow (Data Science & AI)

About the role

SingHealth is looking for experienced, highly motivated people to join its growing research team in data science and artificial intelligence. Candidates work closely with the Principal Investigator on advanced analytics and AI initiatives across large-scale, multimodal healthcare datasets, covering statistical modelling, machine learning, deep learning and methodology development. The role suits those who want to lead analyses, co-develop study protocols and contribute to high-impact publications.

Required profile

• PhD in a quantitative discipline (e.g. Computer Science/Engineering, Statistics/Biostatistics, Bioinformatics, Mathematics, Business Analytics, Information Systems, Operations Research, Physics) or equivalent.
• At least one year of technical experience in analytics or data science, with exposure to healthcare data and large-scale real-world datasets (registries, claims, omics, wearables).
• Experience managing metadata repositories, developing data dictionaries and catalogues, and maintaining semantic documentation for data governance and standards.
• Strong machine learning and model development expertise; deep learning and methods such as causal inference, survival modelling, latent class analysis and omics analytics preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Python, R and SQL, and big-data frameworks such as Spark/Scala and PySpark.
• Strong understanding of the OMOP Common Data Model, including tables, relationships and vocabulary conventions.
• Familiarity with standardised vocabularies such as SNOMED, LOINC, RxNorm, ICD10-AM, CPT and NDC.
