Research Scientist (1-year contract) – Computer Graphics

About the role

The School of Computing and Information Systems (SCIS) is seeking a dedicated Research Scientist on a one‑year fixed‑term contract. The role focuses on advancing 3D world modelling through high‑quality research, data collection, and implementation of cutting‑edge graphics and deep‑learning techniques.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct high‑quality research on 3D world models.
• Generate and collect video and 3D data sets for experimentation.
• Develop and implement software for 3D modelling and related applications.
• Design and implement deep‑learning programs supporting graphics research.
• Collaborate with a small, agile academic team and undertake other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Minimum PhD in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems or a closely related discipline with a focus on computer graphics.
• At least 3 years of relevant research experience in computer graphics.
• Proven track record of publications or professional work in computer graphics and generative models.
• Ability to break down complex problems and devise effective solutions.
• Self‑motivated, capable of independent work and effective teamwork.
