Research Scientist – English, Communication & Education

About the role

The Alibaba-NTU Global e‑Sustainability CorpLab (ANGEL) seeks a Research Scientist to support interdisciplinary ageing‑related research. The role focuses on user‑centered studies with senior populations, the design and evaluation of gamified and AI‑enabled interventions, and the communication of research outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Principal Investigator and a multidisciplinary team on projects such as the Senior Gamification Study and the Frailty and Longevity Study.
• Conduct user research with seniors, including interviews, surveys, and usability testing.
• Assist in designing, developing, and evaluating gamification elements and AI‑driven personalization strategies.
• Analyze behavioral, engagement, and health‑related data across studies.
• Contribute to academic writing, publications, and dissemination activities.
• Provide editorial support for PhD theses, journal articles, conference submissions, and technical reports.
• Develop and deliver training workshops on academic writing, technical communication, and presentation skills.
• Support grant proposal preparation, project documentation, and reporting for academic, industry, and funding stakeholders.

Required profile

• PhD degree in English, Communication, Education, or a closely related field.
• Experience conducting user‑centered research with older adults.
• Proven track record of academic writing and publication in peer‑reviewed venues.
• Ability to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences.
