Resident Physician / Staff Registrar - KidSTART@KKH KIDS 0-3

About the role

SingHealth is recruiting a Resident Physician / Staff Registrar for the KidSTART@KKH KIDS 0-3 Home Visitation Programme. As a clinician and member of the trans-disciplinary team, you will provide consultative medical support to keyworkers on the care of the mother-child dyad.

Key responsibilities

• Perform postnatal medical assessments and evaluations of infants during home visits.
• Give anticipatory guidance and health promotion advice to families.
• Advise keyworkers on managing the mother-child dyad clinically.
• Contribute expert input to multi-disciplinary case discussions, internal and external inter-agency platforms.
• Coordinate care for the mother-child dyad, collaborate with healthcare colleagues and refer to hospital specialty clinics when needed.
• Work with community partners, including referring to the Child Protection Service when indicated.
• Take part in medical teaching and training, especially antenatal and immediate postnatal care, child health and child development.
• Join programme-initiated continuing medical education and research activities.
• Maintain the standard of medical and clinical service quality expected in the department.

Required profile

• MBBS or equivalent basic medical degree.
• Preferred: post-graduate medical qualification such as MM (Family Medicine/Paediatrics), MRCPCH, MRCOG, recognised by the Singapore Medical Council.
• At least 3 years' experience as a Medical Officer.
• Able to work independently in the department.
• Adaptable, a good team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Committed to improving care for pregnant mothers and optimising the health and development of children from vulnerable families.
