Resident Technical Officer – Building

About the role

The Resident Technical Officer (Building) will support the Resident Engineer in overseeing construction activities on site, ensuring compliance with statutory, client and safety requirements. This role is pivotal for maintaining quality standards and timely project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Resident Engineer in supervising and inspecting on‑site construction work.
• Collaborate with C&S QP, contractors and other technical officers to resolve site issues.
• Implement and sustain the site supervision quality and safety assurance system.
• Identify and address non‑conformities in structural and geotechnical works.
• Monitor project progress, schedule and quality standards.
• Maintain and update site records, including progress reports, safety logs, method statements, shop drawings and as‑built submissions.
• Review method statements and drawings for authority submissions and shop drawings.
• Conduct regular site checks to ensure compliance with MOM health and safety regulations.
• Inspect and monitor the quality of architectural finishing materials and supervise architectural works.

Required profile

• Recognized Civil/Structural Engineering diploma acceptable for registration with IES/ACES.
• Accredited with IES/ACES and holding a valid Resident Technical Officer Practicing Certificate.
