Resident Technical Officer – Civil & Structural

About the role

The Resident Technical Officer (C&S) is responsible for supervising site activities, ensuring that construction works are executed on schedule, meet quality standards, and comply with contract specifications and statutory regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise timely execution of works, maintaining quality control and adherence to contract documents, drawings, and site instructions.
• Review drawings and specifications for discrepancies, reporting issues to the Officer‑in‑Charge.
• Monitor quality of works, materials and samples; rectify non‑compliance and report non‑conforming materials.
• Prepare defect lists, track rectification progress and ensure satisfactory closure of defects.
• Ensure statutory requirements and specifications are met for structural and critical works.
• Attend and minute site, progress, variation, QA/QC and coordination meetings.
• Assist main contractors with queries and coordinate activities with other contractors.
• Inspect and support handover of completed works from other contracts.
• Maintain up‑to‑date records of all site activities and coordinate building and C&S services.
• Collaborate with the safety team to uphold maximum site safety standards.
• Perform any other ad‑hoc duties as required.

Required profile

• Diploma in Civil or Structural engineering from a polytechnic or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience as a Resident Technical Officer, including at least 2 years supervising construction of roads, buildings, viaducts and monitoring data.
• Willingness to work shifts, including night shifts.
• Valid 2026 RTO Certification accredited by IES.
