Resident Technical Officer

About the role

The Resident Technical Officer will supervise and coordinate excavation, trenching, and installation of fire‑hydrant chambers and pipe systems across airport runway and related infrastructure projects. The role ensures compliance with Kubota GENEX pipe installation methods, approved drawings, and local codes.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect and monitor workmanship quality on site.
• Review and verify all drawings, contract specifications, and authority submission documents.
• Conduct daily site surveys, monitor activity, and follow up on the project schedule.
• Review Method Statements, Risk Assessments, QA/QC plans, and Inspection Test Plans.
• Attend Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and coordinate with vendors.
• Prepare weekly progress reports and attend stakeholder meetings.
• Participate in safety walk‑downs and manage punch‑list inspections.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• At least 5 years of experience supervising runway or similar infrastructure projects.
• Registered Resident Technical Officer with IES/ACES.
• Ability to work night shifts and overtime as required.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of mechanical joint and push‑on joint pipe installation methods.
• Familiarity with airport operational and safety requirements.
