Respiratory Technician

About the role

NHG is hiring a Respiratory Technician to carry out pulmonary function tests, including general and exercise-based lung function tests, and to manage the scheduling of these procedures. On-the-job training is provided.

Key responsibilities

• Perform pulmonary function testing for patients as requested by physicians, using professional judgement to ensure patient safety
• Evaluate test reliability, patient performance and clinical implications, and schedule appointments for lung function tests
• Maintain timely and accurate records of procedures performed and results
• Perform calibration and quality checks, and maintain emergency trolleys, resuscitative and medical equipment
• Check and maintain equipment and inventories, and monitor consumables
• Follow infection control guidelines and hospital protocols for emergencies and disasters
• Keep the department clean and tidy, and support quality improvement projects
• Support new staff, assist in data collation and perform other duties assigned by the supervisor

Required profile

• Diploma in Biotechnology, Biomedical Science, Life Sciences, Health Science or equivalent
• Willingness to work shift duty (day: 8AM-5PM, 8:30AM-5:30PM or 9AM-6PM; night: 8:30PM-7:30AM)
