Robotics Autonomy Software Engineer

About the role

BeeX is looking for a Robotics Autonomy Software Engineer to develop the core autonomy stack for its Hovering Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (HAUVs). You will work closely with the Software Lead and collaborate with hardware and operations teams to deliver safe, efficient underwater inspections.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute high‑level mission planning algorithms to meet inspection objectives under operational constraints.
• Develop mapping pipelines that convert noisy sonar data into navigable maps for AUV path planning.
• Implement adaptive mission execution to handle odometry drift, low‑visibility conditions and unexpected environmental changes.
• Create anomaly detection modules that locate structural defects and adjust inspection behaviour accordingly.
• Integrate sensor drivers and optimise low‑level interfaces to provide state information for higher‑level autonomy.
• Build middleware and Software‑in‑the‑Loop (SITL) simulation tools for testing and debugging robotics algorithms.
• Mentor junior engineers and guide their technical deliverables.

Required profile

• Degree (BSc/MSc) in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
• Proven experience developing complex robotic systems in a Linux environment.
• Demonstrated ability to work with multidisciplinary teams on fast‑paced deep‑tech projects.
