School of Engineering Lecturer – Defence and Security Management

About the role

The School of Engineering seeks a Lecturer to lead teaching and research activities in Defence and Security Management. You will shape curricula, guide student projects, and contribute to industry‑focused development initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate student learning and develop curriculum for design thinking, UX, circuit and industrial design, hardware interfacing, prototyping, and computer programming.
• Design and deliver Continuing Education and Training (CET) lessons.
• Participate in R&D and implementation projects, providing consultancy services to industry partners.
• Mentor students, supervise final‑year projects, and coordinate internship placements.
• Engage with secondary schools, teachers, parents, and universities to promote the programme.

Required profile

• Engineering degree (Electronics, Mechanical, Systems or related) with exposure to project management, security systems or business operations.
• Relevant engineering experience, preferably in defence/security operations or facilities management.
• Strong industry connections in defence, security or engineering sectors.
• Passion for teaching, excellent planning and organisational skills, and a commitment to timely delivery of tasks.
• Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
