Senior AI Developer - Health AI Squad

About the role

Manulife Asia is looking for a driven and innovative Senior AI Developer to join its Health AI Squad, based in Singapore/Hong Kong. You will help design, develop and deploy advanced AI solutions that strengthen the health ecosystem across Asia, including intelligent health insights, medical knowledge retrieval, personalized customer and advisor experiences, preventive health engagement, provider and clinical data understanding, and responsible GenAI solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Work with data engineers and IT SMEs to understand source data and prepare and optimise large datasets for Generative AI solutions using OpenAI services.
• Develop and implement advanced machine learning models, with a focus on OpenAI services for Generative AI.
• Work with partners to gather requirements, design data models and implement tailored solutions.
• Standardise processes, techniques and tools into best practices for other data scientists and AI developers.
• Influence and partner with key stakeholders to drive adoption of data and AI-driven solutions.
• Explore new ways to source and use structured and unstructured data, stay up to date on AI/ML trends, and scale products and services globally.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics or another quantitative field.
• At least 3 years of experience applying data science to high-impact business problems, with a recent focus on Generative Health AI applications.
• Track record of delivering AI solutions into production with tangible business value.
• Excellent communication skills, able to explain data science concepts to technical and non-technical partners.

Required skills

• Statistical analysis, machine learning and data manipulation.
• Programming in Python, R or SQL, with GenAI orchestration packages such as LangChain, LangGraph, ADK and CrewAI.
• Big data platforms such as Azure, Databricks and Spark, applied to Generative AI solutions.

The working arrangement is hybrid.
