Senior AI Engineer, Semiconductor Manufacturing

About the role

Micron is looking for a Senior AI Engineer (Software Development Engineer) to join its semiconductor manufacturing team. The engineer configures, develops, maintains and supports Micron and third-party applications, and creates and analyzes software specifications throughout the software development life cycle. The role suits candidates willing to learn semiconductor manufacturing domain knowledge and who want to build software that improves manufacturing, productivity and energy efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Use company-approved AI-assisted tools to speed up requirements analysis, design, development, testing and documentation, validating outputs against security, data-handling and coding standards
• Build IT solutions for semiconductor manufacturing business problems and take part in application lifecycle management (plan, develop, test, deploy and maintain)
• Gather and analyse user requirements, write clear code, take part in code reviews, QA testing, CI/CD and plan and coordinate worldwide software releases, including UAT and user training
• Monitor system performance proactively, perform scheduled software and hardware maintenance and provide operational support such as recovery, bug fixes and enhancements
• Share AI-enabled improvements with the team and contribute to continuous improvement

Required profile

• Minimum bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics or Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent experience (preferably 3-5 years in software development)
• Proactive use of approved AI tools and a forward-looking AI mindset
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work in a clean room environment as needed and provide 24/7 standby support on rotation for L3 support
• Advantageous: software project management skills, Agile exposure, and knowledge of big data tools such as NiFi, Kafka, GCP or IIoT
