Senior Android Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Android Engineer to join Aleph’s product team in Singapore. You will work closely with designers, product managers and backend engineers to create high‑quality, user‑first mobile applications that delight our clients.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain Android apps using Kotlin and the latest Android SDK and Jetpack libraries
• Refactor code to improve performance, stability and maintainability
• Develop with testing in mind and leverage testing frameworks to produce high‑quality code
• Write design and implementation documentation
• Design, implement, unit test and review code across various components and projects
• Integrate with external data sources and APIs
• Unit‑test for robustness, edge cases, usability and reliability
• Fix bugs and improve application performance
• Continuously discover, evaluate and implement new technologies to maximise development efficiency
• Participate in the full product lifecycle: dream, build, run and iterate
• Collaborate with the design team to perfect UI and UX
• Adhere to strict delivery schedules

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent
• 4‑6 years of professional Android development experience
• Strong foundation in Android development (Kotlin, Android SDK, MVVM, Koin, LiveData)
• Good knowledge of Google Material Design and Apple Human Interface Guidelines
• Experience with Gradle DSL, product flavours and dimensions
• Proficiency interfacing with REST APIs using Retrofit, OkHttp, Gson or Moshi
• Experience with Espresso and Robolectric testing frameworks
• Experience publishing apps to the Play Store
• Exposure to Agile working environments is a plus
