Senior Assistant Manager – Faculty Affairs

About the role

The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Nanyang Technological University seeks a Senior Assistant Manager to lead faculty affairs. This senior position provides strategic and operational oversight of faculty recruitment, development, space planning, and stakeholder engagement, ensuring a supportive environment that aligns with the School’s strategic goals.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end faculty recruitment, onboarding, appraisal, promotion and reappointment processes.
• Design and implement initiatives that foster an inclusive, collaborative faculty culture and oversee performance appraisal cycles.
• Coordinate faculty recognition, award nominations and promote research outputs through university platforms.
• Oversee space and infrastructure planning for offices, laboratories and shared facilities, including policy development and data analysis.
• Serve as primary liaison for faculty‑related queries from senior leadership and collaborate with HR, finance, and administrative teams.
• Handle faculty welfare, safety, well‑being and case management, linking with university mental‑health resources.

Required profile

• Proven experience in senior HR or faculty affairs management within a university or research institution.
• Strong knowledge of academic recruitment, appointment, and promotion procedures.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with ability to work across multiple university departments.
• Demonstrated ability to lead culture‑building initiatives and support faculty career development.
• Analytical mindset for space planning, policy development and data‑driven decision making.
