Senior Assistant Manager, Inpatient Operations

About the role

Woodlands Hospital, part of NHG, is an integrated acute and community hospital with specialist outpatient clinics. The Inpatient Operations team keeps ward operations running smoothly, efficiently and safely for patients, caregivers and staff. This role is the operational lead supporting inpatient wards, working closely with clinicians, nurses, support services and hospital leadership to drive operational readiness, transformation and patient experience.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day ward operations and support Inpatient PSA teams across inpatient towers
• Improve ward workflows, patient experience and service standards, and act on operational issues and patient feedback
• Keep wards operationally ready by managing facilities, equipment and systems, including ward dashboards, bedside terminals, information boards and RTLS
• Support equipment procurement, maintenance and enhancement, and review workflows from admission to discharge
• Monitor KPIs such as bed occupancy rate, length of stay, discharge referrals and ward utilisation, and recommend improvements
• Lead ward opening, setup and commissioning, coordinating procurement, facilities readiness, staffing and licensing
• Act as secretariat and coordinator for inpatient operations workgroups, ACE initiatives and hospital-wide programmes, preparing reports and presentations

Required profile

• Degree in Healthcare Management, Business, Operations Management or a related discipline
• Experience in healthcare operations, ward operations, inpatient administration or hospital service management
• Demonstrated project management, service improvement and stakeholder coordination experience
• Familiarity with hospital operational workflows and service delivery environments
